Hands-on, industry-recognised Level 3 fire extinguisher training delivered by the BFC specialist trainers.
The course is led by Joe and Graham Newman, who together bring over 65 years of experience representing the BFC and BSI on British and European standards committees, from manufacturing fire extinguishers through to commissioning and maintenance.
Practical discharge and recharge
Hands-on training in safely discharging and recharging portable extinguishers, mirroring real service work.
Legislation and standards
Covers relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice for the servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers.
Specialist instructors
Delivered by longstanding industry specialists actively involved in British and European standards committees.
Balanced theory and practical
32 learning hours split evenly between classroom learning and practical exercises on real equipment.
A 4 day course consisting of 32 learning hours 50/50 practical and theory based.

To pass the course candidates will need to pass a written paper and a one on one practical assessment. Not only does this course give candidates the competency currently needed to perform as a Fire Extinguisher Technician it also now gives them an SCQF Level 6 Qualification.
