Introducing The BFC Young Person Foundation
New for 2025The British Fire Consortium is proud to launch the Young Person Foundation, a new initiative created to help our member companies recruit, train, and inspire the next generation of fire safety professionals.
This initiative complements our wider membership and training support for UK fire safety businesses.
Who Can Apply?
Any BFC member of at least one year can put forward a young person, whether a new recruit or existing employee.
Available Qualifications
Level 3 pathways:
- Alarm Technician
- Extinguisher Technician
- Fire Door Inspection
- Emergency Lighting

75% Discount On Level 3 Qualifications
Eligible young people can complete a full Level 3 qualification with a massive 75% discount, giving members a cost-effective way to invest in their future workforce.

How Does It Work?
The Young Person Foundation provides clear pathways into the industry by removing barriers and offering access to Ofqual-regulated qualifications.
Step 1
Identify a candidate
Select a young person under 25 ready to benefit from structured Level 3 training.
Step 2
Contact the BFC Secretary
Request a Young Person Foundation application form.
Step 3
Enrol and support
The young person attends the training at a 75% discounted rate with support from their employer and the Consortium.
As the Foundation grows, we aim to deliver full cohorts made entirely of young learners, building a vibrant community of future industry leaders.
